American Girl Explored
Each week an American Girl will be explored. You will
discuss history, role play her journeys and learn how each
American Girl became a part of history.
Artful Tales
Let your imagination run wild. The students will hear
fables, fiction, folktales and more. They will have an
opportunity to demonstrate their own interpretations of
the stories by crafting paper bag puppets, abstract
sponge paintings, and more.
Chess
Learn to play the ancient game of chess. This is a class to
help enforce what skills you already have as well as pick
up new tactics and strategies while playing with friends.
Creative Writing
Develop your creative skills by writing in the form that
feels most natural to you. Whether you love stories or
poetry, this class will help you create your own
masterpieces.
Games of Strategy
While learning to play strategic games, you will develop
advanced thinking skills. An analysis of the games will
provide students with important multi-step thinking skills.
Manners
and More
Do you know how to present yourself? In this class, you
will learn to talk with others, gain poise and confidence
in any situation. We will also help you brush up on your
table manners, thank you notes and all other areas of
properness that Grandma will love!
Math Magic
You will develop critical thinking skills while enjoying
math games, brain teaser and puzzles. This class brings out
the magic in math.
Math Mania
How do we use numbers the fun way? In this class, you
will solve puzzles, do problems and just have fun with
numbers. We may eat some of our numbers as well!
Mythology
Students will study the ancient myths of various
cultures and learn about their influence on modern
storytelling. This class will incorporate reading, crafts,
and drama.
Pirates, Ships and Treasures
Students will learn about pirates, the ships they sailed and
the treasures the pirates were after. Come and demystify
these people; enjoy a dose of history.
Sensational Science
This hands-on science class will be messy and fun. Imagine
all of the experiments that we can do. We will use the
scientific method of inquiry. Weird
and Wacky Science II
Who says science is boring? In this class you will
have fun doing weird and wacky science experiments. You
will encounter all new hands-on activities to review many science
concepts. This is a class for the mad scientist at heart.
